Volunteer Training

So you want Volunteer with us?

That's great news, and thank you!

Once you've forwarded your Volunteer Application Form (PDF 106.59Kb), we require you to undertake specific Volunteer Training and a formal Volunteer Induction. Upon completion of the training and induction we will celebrate with a Volunteer Dinner (a regular event for our devoted Volunteers) and you will receive a Certificate of Achievement followed by placement.

This specialised training incorporates:

  • Volunteer training afternoon,
  • Volunteer induction evening,
  • Volunteer placement opportunites,
  • Insurance cover,
  • Volunteer networking dinners
  • ongoing support from the Institute, and
  • ongoing experience and skills that come from volunteering with the ERISJ

We are also working on a project to deliver the Certificates II and III in Volunteering, a nationally recognised qualification in conjunction with a Registered Training Organisation. The current time frame for this is from the second half of 2009.

Please note: social justice work with marginalised communities and individuals requires specialist volunteer training.  To support our ongoing Volunteer Program we therefore advise that this course incurs a fee for service.
