Violeta Stojkovic
Violeta was introduced to the issues of social injustice at the early stages of her life. Growing up in Serbia, the communist values and politics where imbedded into the daily lives of every citizen. Strongly motivated by social issues, Violeta was enthused to instigate change bringing the spirit of renewal and innovation into projects involving social concerns. As a teenager Violeta was actively involved in numerous public protests against the repressive political regime in Serbia of the late 90s.
Through these experiences she learned that educating society about human rights is the only diplomatic way to serve the interest of the public. Human rights, especially the area of freedom of expression, are something that always interested her which has ultimately inspired her to study Journalism. With a Degree in Bachelors of Arts, Mass Communication, where humane matters are part of the curriculum, Violeta feels that she can make the most of her passion for social integrity. Attending the Photo Journalism festival in France, where photographs addressed social injustices, inspired Violeta to devote her creative voluntary work to fulfill her altruistic aspiration.
